How do I manage my podcast splits?

Splits allow everyone involved in your podcast to receive a share of the revenue when a listener makes a payment using Lightning. You can add co-hosts, producers, editors, guests, and other contributors.

When adding a split, enter a Lightning Address or add the wallet details manually. We recommend using a Fountain Lightning Address because your Fountain wallet shows who sent the payment, which episode they supported, and any message attached to the payment.

You can add as many splits as you like. However, if you have lots of splits it may take longer to process listener payments. It is also worth bearing in mind that listeners incur fees on Fountain for every split when they send a payment.

The steps are slightly different depending on where your podcast or music is hosted.

If You Host On Fountain

To manage your show splits:

• Go to your Dashboard
• Open Settings
• Go to the Payments tab

To customise splits for a specific episode:

• Draft a new episode or edit a published episode
• Scroll down to Splits
• Choose Customise your splits for this episode

If You Host Elsewhere

Once you have claimed your podcast on Fountain, you can manage your splits in the Fountain app.

To manage your show splits:

• Go to your Dashboard from the Main Menu
• Open the Page Menu
• Press Manage Show Splits

To customise splits for a specific episode:

• Go to your Episode in the Fountain app
• Open the Page Menu
• Press Manage Splits
